Ultimate American Road Trip part 2

DAY 3
Imagine setting up your tent in the dark (again) and then falling asleep to the soothing sound of a hundred toads croaking. Oh, and did I mention it's hot, humid and stuffy? That was my camping experience in Minnesota. Awesome, right? The showers were even better. "Dodge the flying bugs" is my new favorite game to play in the shower. After we all played that game, we went straight to the Mall of America, the largest mall in the country!

Our first order of business was to ride on Spongebob's Rock Bottom Plunge. Do you see the green track in the background? That is what we got to go on. It was SWEET!! Then I found a new boyfriend. He's made of Legos.

We all bought something from H&M (except Bryce). The mall was probably his favorite stop of the whole trip.
On our way to Chicago we drove through Wisconsin. So, naturally, we stopped to get some cheese. I love that the word "cheese" is bigger than the word "food" on this sign.

Do you notice how stuffed the car looks from the inside? It sure was cozy!!

In Chicago, we stayed with my friends Joseph and Alison Tateoka. They were the best hosts! We went to dinner with them and got to try real chicago style pizza! You must try their deep dish pizzas. They are amazing!!

DAY 4

Chicago has some really cool architecture. So, we hopped on a boat and had a tour to learn all about the buildings. I'm sure we could have learned something if the tour guide had remembered to dumb down her information so we could understand it. Even with the blistering heat beating down on us and the non-understandable tour, we still appreciated the architecture we saw. This one was my favorite...

The sun sucked up all of our energy. After eating inside an air-conditioned building and getting lots of water, we faced the heat again and found this really cool bean.

It seriously was my favorite thing we saw that day! We also went on a ferris wheel and stood in a waterfall that was coming off a brick wall (there were 2 of them and they're called the face statues). We rode the train back to Joseph's house and walked two blocks to swim in Lake Michigan.
It was ice cold! But we got in all the way and were still smiling afterwards!
